Über die Veranstaltung
CLIMATE POSITIVE CONSTRUCTION FRIDAYS ARE A SERIES OF EVENTS TO ACCELERATE THE NECESSARY TURNAROUND IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR. URGENCY IS DEMANDING ACTION TODAY. Currently facing dramatic resource consumption and a high prognosis on future global demand for construction need new strategies: Transforming and refurbishing existing buildings or using the existing building stock as a material-source. This requires new processes and might lead to a new appreciation and new sort of real-estate products within this decade. Special guests: Two representatives of large portfolio holders will give insights into their current activities in the field of re-use and renovation constructions to enhance the process from concept to realization as a new standard: - Drazenka Dragila Salis (Head of Development and Construction at Swiss Prime Site) - Phillip Morger (Head of Sustainability at Immobilien Stadt Zürich) Other guest: One practitioner facilitates the implementation of new processes and concepts: - Renaud Haerlingen (Independent Architecture & Planning Professional, previously at RotorDC, Brussels) For a broad effect, this event can be attended online at https://lnkd.in/dBHxuFBy. We explicitly invite the wider public and decision-makers. Format: All guests receive a set of topics/questions to prepare their contribution to this event. The two special guests present an ongoing project and/or some insights on the topics proposed (10 to 15 minutes, max 15 slides). The other guest presents his point of view on these topics and eventually reacts to the first presentations to underline their core message, open up a thinking space or inspire the audience (around 5 minutes). Around 1.5 hours of discussion with the audience. This event is co-organized by ETH Zurich - Chair of Sustainable Construction and Fabian Hörmann - The Real Deal – Post-Fossil Construction for Game Changers.
